I found out this week that the NW chapter of NJAWBO (N.J. Association of Women Business Owners) has named me their Business Woman of the Year.  Wow.

I had to write a quick blog to express my gratitude for this honor.  I have been a member of NJAWBO since 1994.  But even before that, I took a course NJAWBO offered called “Start Right, Grow Right” which is where I learned to write a business plan.  If not for that help and guidance it’s possible C3Workplace/Above & Beyond would not even exist.

Just this week on my webinar “Build a Business AND Have a Life” I was saying how important it is to have a business plan, a marketing plan, a budget – if you don’t know where you are going, how can you possibly figure out how you are going to get there, and more importantly, how much it will cost!!??  Those of you who know me, have heard this from me time and time again, so I’ll let it go at that.

Mostly, I wanted to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all those who have helped me along the way and there are many.  As Madeleine Albright has said “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other”.  I’d like to put my own spin on that:   “there’s a special place in hell for entrepreneurs who don’t help each other.”

If you’d like to support NJAWBO, the awards dinner is on June 25th and information can be found at http://conta.cc/1a4suNY  if you are interested in attending.
