A very old school house chalk board

If there’s one thing I have learned in my years as a business owner it’s that I need to keep learning.   There are several things I know for sure and one of them is:  I must stay a student.  Wouldn’t life be so mundane if we never learned anything new, never attended workshops or seminars to improve our skill set, or didn’t take the time tolearn new trends and how they apply to our business?

Before entering into this phase of expansion, I took quite a bit of time to learn and analyze trends in office space to decide where to go.  I also spent a lot of time getting clear on what we do, what we don’t do, our real value proposition, who our target market actually is and so on.  I met with many different business owners, visited competitors, asked hundreds and hundreds of questions.

Upon the recommendation of a much respected colleague, I applied for and was accepted into Rutgers EPI (Entrepreneurial Pioneers Institute), a very intensive 10 month program designed to help first generation entrepreneurs  take their business to the next level.  I gained so many tools and most importantly I gained perspective.  Up until that point, I had managed to analyze my way into confusion … but it was the confusion that comes right before a breakthrough.

Once the breakthrough happened, the rest quickly fell into place – rebranding, coworking, second location and planning for three more locations.

At C3Workplace, it is our intention to help you stay a student by providing meaningful workshops and seminars.  You’ll see our programs move “up a notch” as the rest of 2013 goes by and we round out our C3 Faculty.  Check our event page for our Results Workshop and Online Marketing Training Course.

Stay tuned…
